Uttarkhand is also known as the land of gods or the devbhoomi in hindi and local language is the home of numerous temples. It hold one of the most spiritually and culturally rich aspects and temples of India, known as the Chardham. The Chardham yatra is one of the most prominent yatras every year for the devotees and followers.These 4 temples are known as Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, each having a different significance and influence over the followers and each known as the abode of gods in hindu culture.

Yamunotri is situated at an altitude of 3,293 meters and is divinely dedicated to the goddess Yamuna. Gangotri, located at 3,100 meters above sea level, is divinely dedicated to the goddess Ganga. Kedarnath, situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters, is divinely dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Badrinath, located at an altitude of 3,133 meters, is divinely dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
